
“Vase to Pray from Nagasaki” Commemorating 80 Years Since the Atomic Bombing of Nagasaki Through Art and Dialogue In The Netherlands and Japan June 2025
In 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of the bombing, the project will host its fi rst European exhibition in the Netherlands, a country with deep historical ties to Nagasaki. The exhibition will take place in The Hague and Amsterdam, two cities renowned for their commitment to peace and justice.
The exhibition will off er an immersive, interactive experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to physically engage with the Vase to Pray, view and purchase related artworks and items, and explore a series of multimedia presentations—including interviews with Nagasaki residents and a documentary tracing the evolution of the project. Attendees will also be invited to share their refl ections, which will be recorded and later presented as part of a cross-cultural video installation.
Following its presentation in the Netherlands, the exhibition will travel to Nagasaki, fostering a dialogue on peace that transcends borders and generations. Through the shared voices and experiences of visitors in both countries, the project aspires to create a living bridge of memory and hope.
